Spanish Preterit AR Verbs Conjugated 4 x 4 Matching Squares Puzzle - Students assemble a 4 x 4 Spanish/English vocabulary puzzle with 25 common AR verbs. Sample words are: bailar, cantar, cambiar, llevar, pasar, preparar, trabajar, and nadar. Several words are repeated which makes the puzzle more challenging. Just photocopy enough for a class set (1 for every 2 students if working in pairs, or 1 per student if working alone), cut and fasten with a paper clip. Distribute to students and challenge them to reassemble the puzzles as quickly as possible. There is a list of all words alongside the puzzle in Spanish and English. This is a 2-person, 12 line skit between strangers on the street. One is desperate to learn the time, and the other struggles to understand and provide a helpful response. There are several useful phrases such as vale, pardón, oye, mande, no sé + infinitive, qué hora es?, lo siento, no hay de que, son las tres, qué lo pase bien, and por favor. One person repeats sabe la hora 3 times, and also uses qué hora es, and ya sé la hora. Each of them say son las tres. Included in the download: 1. Students first cut, assemble and read the booklet that contains text and illustrations of words associated with Groundhog Day. The illustration version can be projected in class to present, review and practice pronunciation of the vocabulary words.
