"Food Glorious Food" Art project

Hi everyone This is one of my favorite and most successful Year 9 projects. This powerpoint has 80 slides and is based on the topic “Food” Students will be given a design brief to create a food inspired desert poster for a food company of their choice. They will be given the opportunity to research their chosen company, then they will decide on their chosen cake/desert item. This could be cupcakes, donuts, ice cream etc. They will explore drawing their chosen item in different styles: Realism, expressively and in a vintage style. They will explore 2 different artists: Realism and expressionism. Once they have developed these skills they will plan their final poster ideas. They will have the choice to make it digitally or draw and add chosen media. This full project can be used for Year 9, GCSE or AS students and is is a scheme of work which will last 1-2 terms. It has examples of students work and artist images for you to use and share with students. I hope you find this project inspiring. Thank you

What makes a confidence artist sketchbook page

Hi everyone I have put together this 40 second video to visually show students what a confident artist sketchbook page should look like. It has exceptional examples of actual student sketchbook pages. It breaks down in very simple stages what is needed: Clear layout, minimum of 4 artist images/pictures, a title/artist name but not a HUGE title!! confident studies, written analysis, key words, do’s and dont’s The video is fun and I hope your students will feel inspired by it. If you enjoy the video, please feel free to have a look at my teacher support resource Powerpoint in my shop called: “How to create exceptional and confidence artist sketchbook pages” This has lots of examples and writing frames for you to use with your students Thank you

How to create exceptional and confidence artist sketchbook pages

(0)
Hi everyone In this powerpoint I have broken down in easy straightforward student and teacher friendly language on how to create exceptional artist pages which demonstrate VISUAL and ANALYTICAL language. Assessment Objective 1: Develop ideas, Analyse, respond and demonstrate critical understanding: There are 27 slides: The first 13 slides are student artist sketchbook pages, which were graded in the top 2 bands, either confident or exceptional. Visual language/or an actual student study of the artist work is usually the key element which distinguishes the difference between A or A*. However: Critical understanding is still crucial, we as educators have to encourage our students to read about their artists so they can gain knowledge and learn about their artists in depth. There are many different writing frames/help sheets in this presentation because we have students of different abilities and therefore they need different help sheets. I hope that you find this powerpoint visually inspiring and useful in encouraging your students to create confident and exceptional artist pages Thank you
