This is a very useful resource that I have used in lessons as a starter and for revision homework which is based on each of the acts in ‘Macbeth’. These pyramids are inspired by Kate Jones. They are differentiated so students can tackle the easier revision questions if they wish or the more challenging ones. It’s is based on a student’s response and uses the I do/We do/You do principle of modeling how to respond to the question. In addition there is a ‘do now’ activity based on question 1 of English language paper 1 and a peer assessment plenary. It’s handy for English language revision and revision for ‘Lord of the Flies’ if you have taught it.

PowerPoint analysing ‘England to her Sons’ an early WW1 jingoistic poem by WN Hodgson. This poem is a part of the ‘Up the Line to Death’ poetry anthology and is used extensively in AQA’s English literature A-level, WW1 and Its Aftermath. I have used this with many classes over the years. This resource also includes a knowledge organiser I have made for the poem with references to The Wipers Times for the 2023 examination.
