These activities reinforce understanding of the ‘Subject Specific Vocabulary’ required for the Hot Deserts Section of the AQA Syllabus. Students match the definitions , complete a cloze activity and then produce a definitions table. An answer sheet is also included. No further preparation necessary. Also included are complete A5 vocab sheets and a short slide answer ppt that can easily be added to existing presentations for easy self marking.

This resource uses the Liverpool Bay Wind Farm a case study of sustainable energy use and how it will help the government to move towards a sustainable energy policy. The resource covers 2 sheets and has a mixture of stimulus material, sorting exercises and GCSE exam questions. Based on the AQA A Globalisation Unit but as it is word based it can easily be edited to fit other exam board requirements, including the new specifications.
A straightforward lesson that provides students with templates to collect the notes from the old Oxford AQA Textbook. Also included are two exam style questions which are self contained. Whilst the templates are designed to be used with the Oxford Book the assessments are self contained and can be used without any book resource.
A one sided A3 Revision Sheet that covers the Extreme UK Weather Section of the AQA 9-1 Course. Aimed at students who need a structured approach to revision. These sheets can also be used as structured review lessons throughout the course allowing students to produce a series of concise A3 summaries that make the revision process managable.
Designed for the 9-1 AQA Geography Exam. A complete lesson based on the Thar Desert as a case study for the Opportunities and Challenges section. The lesson contains a video link that covers the case study in detail. This is supported by a scaffolded exam question which includes an answer sheet. The lesson combines a memorable case study with a structured assessment activity. The examiner reports identifies that students found applying specific information to this question was problematic for many and the scaffolded exam question addresses this issue. They all remember the golden rat!

The process of carbonation is covered as well as limestone pavements and the main underground features. Sheets are no frills black and white so easy to photocopy. Each resource acts as a standalone activity so very easy to fit into existing lesson plans.
A series of four A4 worksheets that cover the formation of Granite Tors and Chalk Escarpments. The Granite sheets covers the challenging process of hydrolysis as well as present day freeze-thaw action in an accessible way. Chalk sheets covers rock folding, differential erosion and moves onto the location of spring line villages. Sheets are in simple black and white format for easy photocopying. Objectives head each sheet linked to GCSE grades. Completed sheets form a model answer for students to refer to. Originally written for AQA A GCSE but objectives are generic enough to be applied to other courses.
A series of three self contained worksheets that deal with the global shift of manufacturing. They all have resource material and a past GCSE exam question included. They are based on the AQA A Syllabus, Globalisation Unit. They could be adapted to other syllabi, as the concepts are quite generic. Useful as AFL and exam question practice but would also work well as cover resources.

This resource takes a menu approach to encourage students to improve their annotation of the three main plate margins required by the new AQA GCSE. Included are 3 diagrams to stick in exercise books and a 2 sided 'menu' sheet that is differentiated to encourage description, detailed description and then explanation.
