Get your students hands-on with this is a laboratory activity that will enable them to study cellular respiration in lentil seeds! Tested in a Science contest the school-made respirometer that is very easy to assemble using everyday materials. My students were excited to use the respirometer to actually record data and make calculations in this biology experiment. The activity consists of a worksheet (cellular_respiration_rate) with a full description of the laboratory set-up, the educational objectives, theoretical background and step-by-step experimental procedure.

Everything your students need to know about fossils and fossilization! It also includes extension activities suitable for 7-8th grade students. My students are always curious about the fossil formation, life in the past, extinction and evolution of organisms and are happy to search for information and examples to support scientific explanations. The educational objectives concern describing the formation of fossils, understanding patterns and constructing explanations from observations and designing solutions. The educational resource consists of the worksheet that guides the teacher and students step-by-step through all the important topics about fossils in a comprehensive way.
