Calculating with speed, distance and time

(0)
An interactive geogebra applet that models the how to calculate using speed, distance and time (with and without a calculator). The applet generates progressively differentiated examples for modeling with your class. Please see the video for how the use the teaching aid. I have also included a set of differentiated worksheets with solutions. These are also previewed in the video. The geogebra applet is attached but if you don’t have it installed then the web link is also attached so you can use the applet in any web browser.

Scaling proportion (including worksheets)

(0)
An interactive geogebra applet that models the how to proportionally scale up and down including using the unitarty method and non-calculator methods. It then extends to using proportion to compare ‘best buys’ including BOGOF examples.

Average and spread (mean, median, mode and range) [inc. worksheets]

(0)
An interactive geogebra applet that models the how to calculate average and spread of a data set including… ==> Mean, median, mode and range from a list of numbers ==> Reverse average problem solving ==> Combining mean problems ==> Mean from an ungrouped frequency table ==> Median from an ungrouped frequency table ==> Interquatrile range from an ungrouped frequency table ==> Estimate of the mean from a grouped frequency table ==> Estimate of the median from a grouped frequency table ==> Estimate of the interquartile range from a grouped frequency table The applet generates progressively differentiated examples for modeling with your class. Please see the video for how the use the teaching aid. I have also included a set of differentiated worksheets with solutions. These are also previewed in the video. The geogebra applet is attached but if you don’t have it installed then the web link is also attached so you can use the applet in any web browser.

Calculating and using the discriminant (inc. worksheet)

(0)
An interactive geogebra applet that models the how to calculate the discriminant and links this to the graphical representation. Includes reverse discriminant to find a range of k as in A level examination questions. I have also included a differentiated worksheet for independent practice. Please watch the video for how to use the geogebra applet and for a preview of the worksheet. The geogebra applet is attached but if you don’t have it installed then the web link is also attached so you can use the applet in any web browser.

Modelling fractional and negative powers PowerPoint

(0)
Models how to evaluate fractional and neagtive powers. Fully interactive and dynamic examples. Please see the video for how to use (note you must enable macros on the start of the PowerPoint for the interactive power counters to work, see video)
