About Aurora Beeches School
Welcome to our Special Needs Secondary School in Cranborne, Dorset
At Aurora Beeches, we believe in giving young people the tools and opportunities to create the lives they want for themselves. With high-quality teaching, an excellent level of individual support and a range of expert-led, integrated therapy, we support students with a range of additional learning needs to create and meet their own goals.
All our students are fully involved in choices around their own programmes, so that whatever their plans are – whether they want to pursue further education, training or employment – they are empowered and supported to create their own futures.
Our School
At Aurora Beeches, we support young people to make choices about their own futures.
We provide high levels of personalised support to help our students to make positive life decisions, work towards gaining qualifications and employability skills for their chosen careers and learn independent ‘preparation for life’ skills.
Our academic and vocational study programmes are designed to help every student access employment or further education, including at Aurora Boveridge College – the further education provider with whom we share our beautiful campus.
Our Facilities
Aurora Beeches is situated within the Aurora Boveridge College campus, a beautiful 50-acre site near the village of Cranborne in the Dorset countryside.
Our students enjoy access to modern, well-equipped classrooms, as well as vocational areas including a digital studio, science lab and art and design base.
Our extensive grounds include horticulture learning areas with large glasshouses, as well as motor vehicle workshops, an animal care unit and excellent sports facilities.
Our Curriculum
We offer a varied curriculum, including academic subjects such as English, maths, science, humanities, and art up to GCSE level, as well as vocational subjects including horticulture, animal care, motor vehicle engineering and digital IT.
We also offer a Forest School programme, delivered on-site in our extensive grounds.
During their time at Aurora Beeches, students have regular appointments with an independent careers advisor and plenty of opportunities to try different work options through our work-based learning programme.
