John Wood School & Nursery

Davidson Primary School joined Chancery Education Trust as a sponsored academy in April 2016 when the school was placed in special measures following an OFSTED inspection in October 2015.

The Academy is located in the heart of Croydon within beautiful green secluded grounds. We are an aspiring academy and are committed to accelerating progress for the benefit of our 455 pupils. We are proud of the strength of the community that enables us to foster and nurture all the talents of our pupils.

At Davidson Primary Academy staff, governors, parents and the pupils work closely together to create a learning environment that stimulates young minds, encourages their development and success, and promotes a sense of responsibility for themselves and others. We believe in fostering children’s curiosity to create a life-long love of learning. We also aim to promote creativity and provide a wealth of opportunities for expressive young minds. Age 4-11 years, with a total number of pupils 455.

We have a high number of pupils supported at School Action Plus, with SEN statements, and eligible for Pupil Premium Funding. The scope to make a real difference in their lives is huge. That is exactly what our dedicated team aims to do - through excellent teaching, our brand new nurture provision that supports aspiration, and with an ethos of care, respect, tolerance and understanding.
