About Q3 Academy Tipton
A Welcome Message from our Headteacher
Q3 Academy Tipton is a large, diverse, and exciting secondary school in the Black Country. We are growing in size, ambition and influence; all aspects of the school are rapidly improving. Our December 2022 Ofsted Inspection very rightly celebrated our warm, caring and inclusive community, recognised the incredible improvement journey we have been on as well as identifying appropriate next steps.
“Leaders have high expectations for pupils at Q3 Academy Tipton. They want all pupils to ‘live life to the full in pursuit of what is good, right, and true’. Pupils understand these expectations and appreciate the positive environment. Teachers treat pupils as individuals, and pupils welcome this. Pupils feel confident to ‘be themselves’ in this inclusive community. Pupils say that behaviour has ‘significantly improved’, and they feel safe in school.” Ofsted, 2022.
Our staff are highly committed and we invest in professional learning and development whilst striving to make the workplace as family friendly as we can, always seeking ways to reduce workload and enhance work-home balance. Our leadership is highly ethical, trusting and we value a diverse workforce. We are building an innovative and transformative curriculum that engages and interests children whilst equipping them with the knowledge and skills for academic and personal success. Our academy is on a journey of rapid improvement and if you join us you will be investing in something of genuine value that will transform the futures of our young people. Come and meet us.

Location
The students and staff at Q3 Tipton are amazing. It is a wonderful place to work as everyone truly cares for each other I feel privileged to lead in a school where everyone puts the children first and we go above and beyond to live the values of “Good, Right and True” on a daily basis .
- Sophia, Associate HeadteacherI started here in February 2014 when it was still Alexandra High. I have seen the changes that have been made as we transitioned into Ace and now Q3. These changes have only happened with hard work and dedication from staff and our students. I love coming to work and am proud to be part of this family.
- Leigh, Senior Welfare ManagerAfter accepting to work at Q3 Tipton, I spent my summer with the anxiety of “have I made the right choice?”, Leaving a place of work where you are happy, is always daunting. On my first day, it was apparent that this was never going to be a decision I’d regret. I left that night thinking, wow! This place actually cares about it’s staff. My opinion has not faltered since that day. Q3 Tipton, you walk into a family that looks after each other. The support and opportunities are there, whenever you need them. All middle leaders and SLT are extremely approachable and supportive. The students in my classes are great and it doesn’t feel like I have known them for only 5 months (They would agree to!). I have settled in extremely well, this is due to the staff and students at the academy. I look to the future of progressing my career at Q3 Tipton.
- Carrie, Maths TeacherWorking as a SENDCo at Q3 Academy Tipton gives me the opportunity to positively impact the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities, to inspire and advocate for the students, supporting them to reach their full potential. It also provides the opportunity for professional growth and development and the pleasure of working with an amazing team.
- Alis, SENDCOMy line manager has incredibly high expectations of how I must be supported to become successful head of department and Senior Leaders are in regular contact with me to ensure that all my needs are met.
- Alex, Head of ComputingSince joining in September as a supply teacher and taking on a full-time role in Science, the department have supported and encouraged me to find my confidence and love of teaching again. I cannot thank Q3 Tipton enough for the opportunities given to me!"
- Jess, Science Teacher“Having worked in primary for over 23 years, I never imagined I’d have my dream job working in Secondary with teenagers but it's so rewarding, every child is different, every day is different and exciting.”
- Val, English Teacher“Since joining Q3 in September I’ve found it to be an inclusive, supportive and rewarding place. I wouldn’t want to teach anywhere else.”
