Wingfield Academy offers a ‘child centred, progress focused’ academy ethos which allows our young people to grow and thrive. We have a cohort of students with high standards of behaviour and a willingness to learn. We have a welcoming and supportive community where staff really do matter. Wingfield offers a supportive and committed leadership team with a clear vision of raising standards of teaching, learning and positive behaviour.

Wingfield academy has become a oversubscribed and high performing secondary school, placing it as one of the highest performing schools in Rotherham and in the top 7% nationally for progress. Wingfield has also been named a national lead school as part of the DfE’s behaviour hub programme. We believe our close-knit community provides the optimum conditions for academic success and outstanding pastoral care because we know every child. Our dedicated and ambitious staff go the extra mile to make a quantifiable and powerful contribution to social mobility.

Wingfield Academy sits within the New Collaborative Learning Trust (NCLT), a multi-academy Trust which currently comprises of three 16-19 Colleges, three Primary Schools and one 11-16 Academy. NCLT was awarded ‘Employer of the Year’ in the 2023 MAT Excellence Awards and is recognised as a Leader in Diversity and a Disability Confident Employer. Collaboration is at the core of our work and we have a shared commitment to providing an outstanding learning experience and making a positive contribution to social mobility and the lives of young people.
