About Lady Eleanor Holles International School Foshan

Opened in 2020, Lady Eleanor Holles International School Foshan (LEH Foshan) has been founded to provide a British high school education to the expatriate community in Foshan, the first school in the city to do so. When full, LEH Foshan will educate 850 boys and girls aged 8-18, with both day and boarding options. Although LEH Foshan is an independent school, it is closely linked with Lady Eleanor Holles School (LEHS) in the UK and shares the same joyful approach to learning.

Founded in 1710, LEHS is one of the oldest and most prestigious academic girls’ schools in the UK. Renowned for the outstanding academic education it offers, it also has an enduring reputation for excellence in sport and in the creative and performing arts.

Under the proactive support and guidance of LEHS, LEH Foshan aims to become a beacon of educational excellence and the premier School in the region. We believe that all students can achieve academic excellence through hard work and creative teaching, but school should also be fun, challenging and adventurous. At LEH Foshan students learn to balance their academic studies with a wealth of extra-curricular activities. Students learn many lessons through these activities, discover passions and interests that will last with them for life and develop skills that make them more effective learners.

The location: Foshan

LEH Foshan is situated in the heart of Foshan, a city the size of London with a rich and varied cultural heritage. Foshan is a clean, modern city with the ambition to become the hub for high-technology, bio-science, and finance in the Greater Bay Area. The area surrounding the School is green and air quality is good. There are plenty of cycling and running tracks along the banks of the Dongping Waterway and adjacent to the Ban Yuedao wetland park. Traditional culture has been preserved in nearby Lingnan Tiandi, which has been redeveloped as a pedestrianised restaurant and shopping area.

The School is 45 minutes from the International Airport in Guangzhou and just under an hour from Hong Kong and Hong Kong International Airport by high-speed train.

The School Site

The School enjoys a spacious, green environment spread over a 9.5 acre site.  Awarded the inaugural British Schools Forum China award for sustainable design, LEH Foshan incorporates latest thinking, offering state-of-the-art facilities include flexible, collaborative classrooms, superbly equipped science and technology facilities, specialist teaching and performance spaces for the creative and performing arts, extensive sports facilities together with a 400m running track and sports fields.
