Job overview
We are looking to recruit an Assistant Bursar to support the Bursar by providing strong and effective leadership across a range of internal functions to ensure that these functions meet the educational needs of the School. The school’s ethos is based on Smart, Skilful and Kind, which permeates through all that we do.
We are a highly successful Surrey prep school, providing all-round education and development enabling our pupils to achieve excellent outcomes, in terms of high exam results, entry to leading senior schools, scholarships and awards and, most importantly of all, rounded characters, capability and confidence as young men with the world at their feet. Set on a private estate near Kingston, you will be close to Richmond Park and the River Thames, yet within short travelling distance into central London.
We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated person with experience of change management and implementing new systems and processes in the workplace. Applicants must have demonstrable management experience, as well as the ability to think and plan strategically and co-ordinate a number of ongoing projects across several different areas.
To be successful you will:
- have a pro-active approach to planning and prioritising work with high professional standards
- have strong management experience
- have good interpersonal and communication skills
- have first class organisational and administrative skills
- be educated to degree level or NVQ level 4 or equivalent experience
- be willing to give generously of your time to support school events and activities
