Job overview

Treloar’s is the UK’s leading centre for physically disabled children and young people. Helping to change the landscape of physical disability education, providing education, training, support and outreach programmes that benefit local and distant beneficiaries. The charity has a turnover of over £30m and employs approximately 850 staff.

As a Charity, School, College and more supporting vulnerable young people, governance is critical to Treloar’s success. There are two main non-executive bodies providing oversight; the School and College Board of Governors and the Board of Trustees – who are responsible for the charity as a whole.

We are looking to appoint an Assistant Clerk to provide important support and guidance to both these boards ensuring that they can provide appropriate direction, and oversight to the executive. This position is engaging and diverse, necessitating meticulous attention to detail alongside outstanding organisational, administrative, interpersonal, and communication abilities.

The postholder should possess a high-level qualification in secretarial or business administration, or demonstrate equivalent experience. They must have a track record of accurately recording minutes for boards or governing bodies in organisations of similar size or complexity, as well as managing stakeholders at a senior level, both internally and externally.

The selected candidate will be expected to work 24 hours across four days each week (the specific days are open to negotiation) and must also demonstrate flexibility in attending key meetings as needed. This role is office-based.
