Upton House is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Finance Manager to join our busy school office team.

A little bit about us

We are a small small independent school in Windsor. The school has been running since 1936. We value each and every member of our staff team and recognise that people can bring different ideas and suggestions all of which are equally valued. We view our team members as our extended family and most of our staff have worked with the school for many years.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of operational accounting services in the School. This will include assisting with fee invoicing on a termly basis, other invoicing on an occasional basis and for cash collection and credit control. It will also include invoice processing and payments to our suppliers and all related functions including payroll administration, petty cash, and nominal ledger accounting.

As part of the Upton Office Team, the successful candidate would also be required to help out with addition school tasks such as covering phones and reception as and when needed as well as school/staff events which could occur in evenings and at weekends.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate for this role would have:

·      Previous experience of working in a busy Finance Team

·      A recognised accountancy qualification would be an advantage

·      Ability to input data accurately with excellent attention to detail

·      Strong digital skills, specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are essential for this role.

·      Experience working in a school would be an advantage

·      Excellent communication skills

·      Able to work as part of a team and use your own initiative

·      Commitment to your role and being an inspiration

·      Have a fun, can do attitude

·      A willingness to meet challenges with enthusiasm and to contribute as a team member is essential

Upton House School is a independent co-educational preparatory school in Windsor, Berkshire. The school was first opened in 1936, and is located on a one acre site in the centre of Windsor. In 2008 the two-storey facility Little Upton was opened, containing pre-nursery and nursery rooms with access to an outdoor play area. There are approximately 295 students on the school roll. Upton House is denominationally Christian, and is a registered charity.
