As Assistant SEND Co-ordinator, you will play a key role in supporting students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the best possible educational experience.

As Assistant SEND Co-ordinator, you will support the SENDCo and work alongside a dedicated team of HLTA’s and LSA’s to collaborate with staff, parents and outside agencies in order to provide support, guidance to students with special educational needs. This will include monitoring and reviewing the quality of SEND provision, ensuring our SEND Policy is implemented effectively and support staff in maintaining high standards of provision.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Experience of working successfully with students/young people and their families
• A recognised qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN), such as a SENDCo qualification, or working towards one.
• Experience of working with children or young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.
• Sound knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, pupils, and external agencies.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Be able to establish relationships with students and their families
• The ability to organise, motivate and inspire students.
