Job overview
The Role
OIC Brighton’s Global Strategic Pathways model aims to prepare all pupils for top university destinations whilst ensuring the highest levels of personal development. Wellbeing is central to our approach at OIC Brighton and the boarding team is the frontline of pastoral care for our majority international full boarders.
The boarding assistant is a residential role, supporting the houseparent in supervisory and caring duties in one of three boarding houses at OIC Brighton. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of boarding provision and to the College’s Super Curriculum programme, supporting students’ personal development. They will have a flexible, can-do approach to their work and a passion for pastoral care, recognising that the strength of our boarding provision enables our students to thrive both personally and academically.
Boarding assistants will be expected to contribute to the wider life of the College through clubs, activities and supervision duties. Boarding assistants contribute to evening and weekend activity programmes and accompany students on trips and visits.
Each boarding house is staffed by a houseparent and boarding assistants, who work on a rota to ensure adequate supervision of the boarding students throughout the week. Accommodation and meals are provided.
