Position Overview:

Thames British School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Business Studies Teacher for our High School Mokotów campus. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the department for the right candidate. You will play a critical role in delivering high-quality education, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting student achievement at Key Stages 4 and 5.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership:

  • Implement and deliver the Business Studies curriculum for KS4 and KS5.
  • Support the development and implementation of effective teaching practices.
  • Provide professional development and instructional guidance to colleagues.

Opportunity for Head of Department:

  • Lead and manage the Business Studies department.
  • Develop and oversee departmental policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and support department staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.

Examinations and Assessment:

  • Manage the administration of internal and external examinations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of student progress and results.
  • Implement and monitor assessment policies and procedures.

Student Development:

  • Coordinate counselling and guidance programs to support student academic and personal development.
  • Monitor student progress and implement interventions where necessary.
  • Engage with students and parents to address any issues impacting student performance and well-being.

Operational Leadership:

  • Assist the Headteacher in the day-to-day running of the school.
  • Lead school assemblies, meetings, and other events as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and regulatory requirements.

Community Engagement:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, guardians, and the wider school community.
  • Promote the school through events, communications, and community partnerships.
  • Represent the school in professional networks and external forums.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Business or related field.
  • British teaching qualification (PGCE, Bed, or SCITT).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • English Level C2 or IELTS 8.5.
  • Experience with the English National Curriculum and IBDP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme).

Desirables:

  • Previous international school experience.
  • Experience working with children who speak English as an Additional Language.
  • Full access to the labor market (valid Visa type D, TRC, etc.).
