Care Manager – Young Adult Residential Care
Location: Aurora Orchard Manor, Meldreth, Nr. Royston - Cambridgeshire / Hertfordshire
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time – 40 hours per week – Shifts
Salary: £17.97 - £19.21 per hour - effective from 1st January 2025 (linked to competency and qualifications)
Annual Salary: £37,377.60 - £39,956.80 per year for a 40-hour week

The Role:
We are currently looking for a Care Manager to work at Aurora Orchard Manor. Rated CQC Outstanding Aurora Orchard Manor is set within 14 acres and offers a supportive living and learning environment for young adults with severe and profound learning difficulties and complex health needs. With specialist facilities and a focus on promoting independence, we support each of our young people through the transition from education into adulthood with a focus on person-centred programmes to promote independence.

Key responsibilities:
- Working as part of the management team to manage and develop the service offered to individuals in accordance with their preferences and needs
- To safeguard the health, well-being and safety of young people and adults, and if concerns arise, to immediately report these concerns in line with policy and procedure
- To manage and encourage team members to maximise their potential through continuous learning whilst challenging and dealing with under performance
- To recruit, manage and develop staff within Aurora’s HR and operational policies and procedures
- To have an oversight of young people’s health needs, appointments and actions
Please note that the role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care.
Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required.
Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
- QCF Level 3 in Adult Social Care
- Experience of working with young people and adults who have complex needs.
- Managerial experience within the care industry
- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding best practice
- Superb communication skills
- Highly organised
- Ability to lead and motivate
