Job overview
We are looking to appoint an experienced caretaker at our popular co-ed school in the heart of Notting Hill. The successful candidate will be part of a highly committed and passionate team.
The school is spread over three sites and the successful candidate will be expected to prioritise and multi task under pressure and be a good team player.
Duties will include opening and closing buildings at the beginning and end of the school day; keeping all areas, in particular playgrounds and school entrances, clean and tidy; assisting in the moving of school furniture and equipment: and reporting all repairs and maintenance issues to the Premises Manager. A basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical work as well as Health and Safety regulations would be an advantage.
The role will involve contact with, and responsibility for, children and will amount to ‘regulated activity’.
The role will be all year round with 25 days holiday (to be taken during school holidays).
The hours of work during term time (& INSET Days) will be 6.30am – 13.00 & 5.30pm – 7.30pm (8.5 hours per day. During school holidays the hours will be reduced to 8.00am – 12pm & 4.30pm – 6.30pm.
The salary and package are generous and subject to experience.

Notting Hill Preparatory School is a mixed, non-denominational independent primary school in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, serving students from the age of 4-13. The primary school, situated in Notting Hill has approximately 400 students on record.
Notting Hill Preparatory School opened in 2003, set up through the collaboration of parents and teachers. The school opened new buildings in 2009 and 2018, with facilities including a computer suite and specialist art, music and science rooms.
