About the role:
The Classroom Support Assistant (CSA) is a member of the Classroom Support Team (CST) that plays a key role in supporting classroom teachers to ensure that all students with diverse learning needs can access and participate in the curriculum and activities in order to achieve the academic goals and social skills required for independent learning and confident participation.
Casual employees are approved to work nominate their schools of preference and availability through our simple to use Casual Relief System (CRS). Casual employees may be called upon, on an as-needed basis by Catholic Schools within the Archdiocese of Canberra Goulburn. Casual work can vary from between three hours to several weeks at a single school, college, or early learning centre.

Who can apply:
- Certificate IV in Learning Support (or equivalent) (Level 5.1); or
- In the third year of completing a relevant teaching tertiary qualification (Level 5.1); or
- In the first or second year of completing a relevant teaching tertiary qualification (Level 4.1); or
- Certificate III in Learning Support (or equivalent) (Level 4.1); or
- 3 years relevant experience (Level 4.1).
Selection Criteria:
Suitable applicants will demonstrate:
- A commitment to the goals of Catholic education and a readiness to foster the aims and vision in the wider school community;
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage positively with colleagues and students;
- Ability to apply knowledge experience and training to assist with planning, organising and achieving outcomes within the relevant time constraints;
- Initiative and the ability to handle a number of tasks concurrently;
- Flexibility to adjust to changing situations.
