Part of the New Bridge Multi Academy Trust, the Springboard Project provides high quality, innovative and alternative educational experiences for students with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties) across the 14-19 age range. Our aim is to ensure that all our learners engage in a revised and vibrant curriculum offer. As well as including key skills, the young people also have the chance to experience a wide range of vocational and extended learning opportunities.

We have a new and innovative opportunity for a Catering Supervisor and Food Pathway Lead to join our expanding team based in the centre of Oldham. The role is to be responsible for the successful running of the Springboard Project kitchen and the provision of school lunches; working within the School Food Standards and ensuring that all legal obligations with regards to food hygiene and environmental health regulations are met. The post holder will also be responsible for the day to day supervision of designated catering staff.

Alongside this, the post holder will provide opportunities for students to learn within the catering environment. This involves taking a lead role within the Food Pathway, taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision and supporting students with a wide range of needs. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups and assessment, recording and reporting on students’ achievement, progress and development.

Applicants must have previous experience in the commercial catering industry and the provision of meals on demand to meet customer needs. They must also have experience of mentoring and supervising others in a learning capacity. Experience of working with children or young people to support them in overcoming barriers to their personal, social or learning development would be an advantage.

This post will be subject to a number of pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and proof of right to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
