Job title:       Catering Teacher / Instructor

Salary:           Up to £36,000 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications

Hours:      37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 08:15 - 15:45

Contract:       Permanent, Term Time only

Start Date:  January 2025

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Catering Teacher / Instructor to join our close-knit team at Wetheringsett Manor School located in Suffolk.

About the role

To secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils in consultation with the Head of Education.

To teach a range of subjects as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the school’s curriculum.

In consultation with the Head of Education undertake other identified areas of responsibility as necessary to ensure effective delivery of the school’s curriculum.

 Specific Roles and Responsibilities

  • To teach a variety of skills relating to Catering and general kitchen related skills across the school to students aged between 11-18
  • To be a form tutor for students to support them in their education.
  • To teach WMS101 to selected pupils across the school. 
  • Take responsibility for setting up the Catering provision at Wetheringsett Manor.
  • To play a key role in the development of SEN provision within Wetheringsett Manor School.
  • To work with schools, parents, key agencies and the young people with SEN to ensure effective and successful inclusion of pupils including those with SEMH within Wetheringsett Manor School.
  • To support the development of learning styles and appropriate teaching approaches, behaviour management, classroom strategies, resources and whole school policies for children with complex needs and diagnoses within Wetheringsett Manor School.
  • To work with the schools therapy team and build strong curriculum based on the needs of the students. 
  • To enable access to learning and social opportunities for pupils with SEN through the delivery of teaching, support, families and the young person.

About the School

Wetheringsett Manor School is a new independent day SEMH School for up to 42 pupils aged 11-18. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.

Wetheringsett Manor School has gone through significant refurbishment and is based in Suffolk, East Anglia and opened to pupils in November 2020. The Manor House is located in 17 acres of parkland with wooded boundaries and sits on the edge of the village of Wetheringsett. The accommodation also provides several other buildings including a converted stable block, a cottage and two industrial units.

Wetheringsett Manor School site is currently going through significant refurbishment and is based in Suffolk, East Anglia. The Manor House is located in 17 acres of parkland with wooded boundaries and sits on the edge of the village of Wetheringsett. The accommodation also provides several other buildings including a converted stable block, a cottage and two industrial units. This a great opportunity for us in the Suffolk area to expand and complement our current SEMH provisions that are struggling to facilitate for all referrals due to full capacity.
