32.5 hours per week, term-time, plus training days
Salary £30,697 to £31,514 per annum
Castlebar School is an outstanding special school for primary aged children with severe and complex learning difficulties. We are looking for enthusiastic, suitably qualified and experienced classroom support staff to join our school, who have a passion for education and commitment to working alongside the teachers to provide a high quality learning environment. Essential requirements:
· Have at least 3 years’ experience of working with children who have special needs
· Be able to lead a class and a very good knowledge of the SEN curriculum
· Have good written and verbal communications skills and be numerate
· Have achieved NVQ qualification (level 3 minimum) or its equivalent level
· Be able to work as a team, yet use your own initiative
· Be prepared to work with children who may have challenging behaviours
Ideally, candidates will also have:
· Developed skills and/or have training in structured teaching approaches
· Developed skills and/or have training in motivational behaviour approaches
