Job overview

We have an opportunity for a part-time, cleaner based at our Swaffham campus. 

The duties include:

  • Be responsible for cleaning certain parts of the campus as allocated by the Premises Manager (this may vary from time to time)
  • Use cleaning materials as instructed by the Premises Manager
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas and to wash or mop the floors of the cloakrooms and toilets in designated areas (Machine clean where practicable)
  • Sweep all the uncarpeted floors thoroughly
  • Empty and clean bins and remove waste to designated areas
  • Spot-clean spillages
  • Regularly clean toilets, toilet areas and the replenishment of toiletries etc
  • Cleanse hand basins in all toilets
  • Wash off dirty marks on wall tiling and mirrors
  • Clean internal glass, internal and external door glass
  • Routinely clean lamp shades and light diffusers (strip lights)
  • Carry out periodic cleaning of all internal surfaces
  • Periodically clean internal windows
  • Check and close windows, switching off lights after work
  • Carry out such other duties as may be allocated from time to time
  • Report all defects / hazards immediately to Premises Manager
  • Switch off fans and self-clean ovens in the hot lunch kitchen
  • Carry out duties and checks relating to closing the school at the end of the day (applies to those finishing at 6:30pm)
  • Carry out annual summer holidays deep-clean in preparation for the new academic year
  • To perform such other duties as may be requested from time to time, commensurate with the role
