The Portsmouth Academy are seeking to appoint a Computer Science / ICT Teacher to join our team of committed professionals delivering high quality lessons. If you are an excellent classroom practitioner, who is flexible, dedicated and passionate about delivering exceptional learning experiences, then we want to hear from you.

We require an individual who can help build upon the success of the department and teach a student-focussed curriculum that allows our pupils to achieve their best possible outcomes.

Computing plays an important and integral role in our school community. This is reflected in the opening of a brand new Computing Suite for 2024 that will encompass state of the art equipment.

The successful candidate will ideally have Qualified Teacher status and have an up-to-date knowledge of developments in Computer Science / ICT.

The post would suit an Early Careers Teacher or experienced teacher looking for their next challenge. Equally applications from graduates with an appropriate degree are welcome.

We offer a broad and balanced curriculum in both KS3 and 4, placing significant importance on cultural capital alongside academic achievement.

The Portsmouth Academy is a “Microsoft Showcase School” due to our approach to digital learning. The academy has launched a one:one device policy, so every child in Year 7 and Year 8 has their own laptop, and we are particular interested in finding teachers who have experience of, or would like to develop experience of, teaching with technology.
