ACS International Schools are recruiting for a Data Analyst to join our IT team based at our Cobham Campus.
The Data Analyst helps ACS turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions: identifying, gathering, analysing data, and making insights easily accessible across the organisation through easy-to-understand graphs, charts, tables and reports.
Principal Accountabilities
- Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.Work with management to prioritise business and information needs. Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.Improve data quality across educational and business systems.Prepare reports and present these to management or clients.Identify and recommend new ways to save time and money by streamlining business processes.

Qualifications and Training
- Degree-level qualification in Computer Science or database managementApprenticeship or higher level of working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
- Knowledge and ExperienceTechnical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniquesStrong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (including Business Objects, databases (MySQL), preferably with some programming knowledge (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)A good working knowledge of programming languages such as PHP, R and JSONA solid understanding of data sources, data organisation, infrastructure, and storageKnowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasetsFamiliarity with data visualisation and reporting technologies.A solid understanding of data sources, data organisation, infrastructure, and storage Knowledge and experience of webservices and Resful APIs, including oAuthExperience and understanding of cloud-based data warehouses.

Situated on 128-acres of Surrey countryside, 20 miles south of Central London, ACS Cobham enrols over 1,350 students aged between 2 and 18 - Early Childhood through High School - offering both the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, and an American curriculum, including Advanced Placement (AP) courses.

The Dormitory provides a home-away-from-home for over 100 students, aged 12-18 (7th through 12th Grades). Boarders share ergonomically designed two-person rooms with ensuite facilities and internet connections; there are student lounges, kitchens, computer and study rooms. Six full-time Dormitory house parents and over ten resident teaching staff ensure an active yet well-considered programme of pastoral care, friendship and advisor groups, house activities and weekend trips.
