We are looking for a dynamic, caring, and passionate individual for whom our values and ethos resonate to become a class teacher in Attenborough School, initially in KS2.

Attenborough School in Sennelager, Germany provides education for primary children from 2 – 11 years, with the possibility of further extension to the school to 13 years (Years 7 & 8). We are a rapidly growing school and at this time there are approximately 100 children on roll. Proudly providing education for the children of UK MOD personnel, our school operates in a pleasant part of a military garrison, surrounded by woods on generous real-estate. Due to increasing numbers of pupils and predicted future growth, we’re currently recruiting an additional class teacher. Our school and the community need an inspiring teacher who can work in partnership with all members of the school community to ensure the needs of the service children continue to be met; demonstrate our ‘WE CARE’ values and help the school to move forward in this exciting period of growth and expansion.

The purpose of the job is:

  • Teachers hold the full range of teaching responsibilities as outlined in the DfE Teacher Standards and are expected to fully achieve these standards in their work and conduct. Teaching responsibilities include:
  • Plan and teach high quality lessons to an assigned class.
  • Deliver the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability group/subject/s that you teach.
  • Be accountable to the progress and attainment of all children that you teach.
  • Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of assigned.
  • pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment.
  • Adapt teaching to respond to strengths and needs of pupils.
  • Be aware of pupil’s capabilities, their prior knowledge and plan teaching to differentiate appropriately.
  • to build on these, demonstrating knowledge and understanding of how pupils learn
  • Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
  • Promote good progress and outcomes for pupils.
  • Demonstrate good subject knowledge of the National Curriculum for England
  • Participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for internal and external mandatory assessments.
