Deputy Head of Secondary School 

The Deputy Head of Secondary is a pivotal leader within the school, playing a crucial role in enhancing educational excellence and fostering continuous improvement in the Secondary section. This position directly supports the Head of Secondary in implementing strategic school initiatives and ensuring exceptional student outcomes. The Deputy Head drives leadership across teams, manages key operational responsibilities, and maintains a strong focus on student achievement, well-being, and overall school success. In the absence of the Head of Secondary, the Deputy Head ensures smooth school operations and continuity of leadership.

The role offers a dynamic opportunity to lead professional development, coach department leaders, and enhance the school’s teaching practices. Collaboration with both local and global networks is essential to this role, ensuring that the school remains at the forefront of innovative education. The Deputy Head also oversees critical systems such as timetabling, data analysis, EdTech integration, and examinations management, all aimed at maximizing student success. This position is ideal for a dedicated leader committed to driving growth, fostering a culture of belonging, and shaping the future of education.

Selection Process

The closing date for application is Thursday 31 October 2024 although we reserve the right to interview and make an appointment before the advertised closing date for the role. Therefore, an early application is recommended.

Applications should contain an application letter and full CV (including photograph, phone number, and contact details of 3 referees – one of whom is your current Head Teacher/Principal). A scanned copy of relevant degree certificates will also need to be provided.

First stage interviews will be conducted online in early November, and final interviews will take place either online or in-person on 25 & 26 November.

Start Date: Initial contracts are for three years with a start date of 1 August 2025.
