EASA is part of Russet House School. It is funded by Enfield Local Authority to provide autism-specialist outreach support to professionals, educational setting staff and families across the borough. Some aspects of the service are provided 52 weeks a year. We are looking to appoint a new Senior Autism Advisory Teacher to be the Deputy Head of Service (mainly term-time with some flexibility). The successful candidate will work alongside the Head of Service to support the strategic work and development of the multidisciplinary EASA team, as well as being an exemplary Autism Advisory Teacher.
Applicants should have significant experience of working with autistic children and/or young people (up to 25yrs). We are particularly interested to hear from candidates with Secondary School teaching experience. Candidates should be able to guide and advise staff and families in relation to good autism practice. They should have a strong background in educational leadership and be experienced in supporting change in educational settings. They should have the skills and confidence to deliver training effectively to a range of audiences. EASA is the London Regional Partner of the Autism Education Trust (AET) and all staff are expected to act as positive ambassadors for the AET, promoting the #differencenotdeficit ethos and Good Practice Principles through their work and training delivery.
