Hours: Teaching members of the Leadership Group are expected in school from 8am to 6pm every day during term time and until 7pm once a week at least. This role is a residential role on-site at Winchester House.

Job Overview 

We are excited to announce we are recruiting within our Senior Leadership team for Deputy Head (Pastoral, DSL and Boarding). This is a key role in the management of Winchester House school, its development and improvement for the future, ensuring our continual drive for excellence each step of the way.   

You will have overall responsibility for the management and development of the School’s pastoral care and pupil well-being, to ensure that pupils at Winchester House continue to receive excellent care. You will lead a thriving weekly and flexi boarding community assisted by two established House Parents and strong boarding team.

You will provide strong leadership within the SLT and may be required to deputise for the Head, Head of Pre-Prep and Deputy Head (Academic) as required and attend all relevant evening/weekend events and a number of social events throughout the year. You will be the Designated Lead for Safeguarding and be the main point of contact for parents with pastoral concerns that have been passed on from the Assistant Heads. You will lead the Pastoral, Boarding and Safeguarding teams. 

As an individual you will have strong communication skills and pride yourself on professional integrity. You will have an enthusiasm for the holistic education that a Prep School education should provide, ensuring the needs of the pupil always come first. You will have a strong understanding and a clear vision of what outstanding pastoral care should look like and have the passion and drive to deliver this to Winchester House School.
