North Zealand International School is looking to appoint a passionate and dynamic DT teacher who will lead the development of Design and Technology.

About the School:

NIS is a private independent international school with 400 learners from 60 different countries. North Zealand International School is part of NGG – Nordsjællands Grundskole and Gymnasium. We have learners from Early Years up to Year 11. We teach the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC), International Primary Curriculum (IPC), International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), IGCSE and from 2025, IBDP.

We offer a dynamic, international learning and teaching environment where both international and Danish traditions are highly valued.

Our new purpose-built school building is currently being constructed next to our current buildings. The plan is to move to the new school in 2025. 

Qualifications:

  • A certified teaching qualification with exceptional subject knowledge in DT. BEd or Bachelor’s degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent with QTS
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience of leading in DT would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and staff. Advanced or native-level proficiency in English
  • Innovative, creative and positive mindset
  • Experience with the IGCSE and/or International Baccalaureate MYP/DP is desirable
  • Experience working in an international school setting is a plus

 

Job role:

  • Lead, teach and develop the implementation of Design Technology
  • Skills and understanding to teach DT up to and including IGCSE at KS4 and IB at KS5 (from August 2025), IB experience desirable but not essential
  • Experience with high-quality teaching and learning
  • Deliver excellent teaching and learning; collaborating and sharing best practice
  • Be creative and enthusiastic in approach to teaching
  • Be committed to the safeguarding of, and the personal and social development of learners
  • Work effectively with colleagues, learners and parents using excellent interpersonal skills
  • Make a positive contribution to our school community and culture through active engagement and possibly in our extra-curricular programme and community-based events
  • This is a part time or full time DT teach for the school year 2024-25. The role can also be combined with other teaching responsibilities to be a full-time role.
