Job overview

Framlingham College is a co-educational, independent boarding and day school for pupils aged 3-18. The College embraces pupils with a wide range of interests and abilities and offers a huge number of co-curricular activities and sports that complement our academic curriculum and enrichen our pupils’ experience. We believe that learning happens within and beyond the classroom; our pupils and staff have high expectations of and for themselves within a supportive and aspirational environment. We believe in instilling curiosity, a spirit of enquiry and a love of learning for learning’s sake, in every pupil. Our vision is to equip our young people with the habits and knowledge they need to thrive in their future adult world.

The Framlingham Development Office is at an exciting stage of its growth as it looks to play an increasingly central role in the long-term sustainability of the school. With ambitious plans to significantly grow our Endowment Fund, we are now looking for an experienced communications and events professional to help us achieve our aim of broadening our alumni engagement and positioning ourselves as a market leader in the provision of transformational bursaries.

Although the successful candidate will undoubtedly have experience across a breadth of marcomms and events, we are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience of working across a broad spectrum of demographics and with an ability to segment a target audience strategically. Although experience of operating within the education or broader charity sector would be advantageous, candidates with experience of working in an external relationship building role in a results driven environment would also be of interest.

This role is responsible for managing all digital alumni communications, publishing content and ensuring effective promotion and communication of fundraising campaigns through appropriate online and offline channels. The post holder will be accountable for working with the Director of Development to design, manage and deliver an annual programme of events (fundraising, social and careers) focussed on increasing alumni engagement. Furthermore, this role will be key to growing our sports and industry led alumni branches in the UK, as well as our international branches.

This is a part-time role 3 days a week, year-round, with a salary of £15,210 per annum. Some weekend and evening work will be required as an integral part of the role as is meeting potential and existing donors. The role is primarily based at Framlingham College; however, we remain flexible, to a degree of hybrid working.

Framlingham recognises the benefits derived from investing in people, and along with the beautiful surroundings of the campus, the College offers its employees free membership to the Sports Centre which includes access to the pool, gym and discounts on fitness classes, squash and tennis courts. Staff have access to; free parking when onsite, an independent pensions advisor, a free lunch when the kitchen is operational. We have also worked with several local businesses to offer discounts to staff.

If you require further information about the role and working arrangements, please email the HR team on hr@framlinghamcollege.co.uk.

We are always excited about enthusiastic, like-minded professionals joining our school and very much look forward to receiving your completed application.

Framlingham College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service

'Where every pupil creates their own story' - Rated 'Excellent' (ISI Inspection 2022)

Framlingham College is a boarding and day school for boys and girls aged 3-18 which offers flexible and full boarding options.

This is a school that is interested in the development of the whole person as well as the examination candidate, and we encourage our pupils to open their minds, to aim high in all they do, and to make the most of the opportunities available to them. The College has a fine record in stretching the most able pupils, and we know that the bright child will do as well here as they will anywhere else, while our ‘value-added’ rating for those pupils who are not automatically destined to achieve A grades at GCSE and A Level stands alongside the very best in the country. Individual programmes of study provide each pupil with the knowledge and expertise to realise their full academic and personal potential, and the majority of our leavers go on to top British universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. What is certain is that all pupils can be assured of the highest professional quality of provision and individual care in all areas of school life, whatever their strengths or interests.

Framlinghamians leave here with a strong sense of self and a keen awareness of - and sensitivity to - the world around them. The adult world that they will be entering will be a very different one from a generation ago, and we want our pupils to leave here excited – rather than daunted – by the challenges that it will hold.

The College (both Senior and Prep Schools) was rated 'Excellent' by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) in 2022. To view the Inspection Reports in full as well as an Executive Summary of feedback, visit: https://www.framlinghamcollege.co.uk/inspection.
