Barnsley College is an anchor institution dedicated to fostering academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement. We are seeking a creative and experienced Director of PR, Marketing and Communications to join our Marketing department on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

The opportunity

The Director of PR, Marketing and Communications is responsible for the development and execution of strategic initiatives to enhance the college’s visibility, reputation and engagement with key stakeholders. You will oversee a team of Marketing professionals to develop and advance comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with the college's goals and objectives, whilst managing budgets to ensure cost-effective use of resources.

As part of the College’s Senior Management Team, our new Director of PR, Marketing and Communications will cultivate strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and collaborate with internal departments to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communications. This includes overseeing the creation and dissemination of engaging content across relevant platforms, and leading PR efforts to promote the college’s programmes, events and achievements.

About you – our new Director

This is a fantastic opportunity for creative, strategic thinker with a passion for education and training. We are looking for someone who has a proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing and communications strategies, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.

You should be able to demonstrate proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, and analytics. If you possess strong leadership and team management skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously, this is the role for you.
