General:
The International School of London seeks a driver to transport, staff and learners as well as good between our two campuses safely. This post is full-time but only during term time. The driver would not be expected to be in or working during the scheduled school holidays of the company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Driving
- Shuttle staff as per schedule from one ISL campus to another.
- Ensure safe driving at all times, obeying all UK driving regulations.
- Ensure that driver’s license is always up to date and valid.
- Interschool deliveries of catering, post, cleaning consumables and other ad hoc items.
- External collection and deliveries of items as needed.
- Keep the ISL vehicles clean and neat at all times, including when needed washing vehicles.
- Only stick to routes given and approved by your supervisor.
- Ensure that no unauthorised passengers (including staff, learners, external people) are allowed to be transported in the company vehicle/s for personal use.
- Ensure to be professional in appearance and manner when dealing with clients, staff and learners.
- Ensure vehicle checklist is carried out weekly on all vehicles.
- Report any faults or issues arising from vehicle checklists to your supervisor.
2. Watchman
- When not driving act as a watchman, assisting with gate duties and/or walking around the premises to ensure that no unauthorised personnel are on site.
3. Facilities Assistance
- When not driving, assist facilities team in: Setting up for events.
- Checking on consumable levels in coffee stations.
- Ensuring consumable areas are clean and tidy.
4. Experience and knowledge required
- Driver’s licence – essential.
- Careful and responsible driving.
- Welcoming and friendly nature.
- Ability to work in a team.
5. Care & Guidance
- To be familiar with the School’s Child Protection Policy and to report concerns to the designated Child Protection Officer
- To ensure all educational practices are in line with the school’s health and safety procedures and policies.
