We are looking for well spoken English teachers to lead, manage and work collaboratively with mainstream teachers and support staff to plan and deliver effective English language support to English as additional language students, to speed their acquisition of English and facilitate access to the curriculum.

PACE British School Sharjah is looking to appoint an inspiring, nurturing and experienced English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teacher from October. Working with small groups of pupils aged 4-16 years old, the position requires a highly motivated individual who is able to teach English at all levels including Cambridge IELTS.

The successful applicant will be predominantly supporting our students for whom English is not their native level language, to support their learning in our successful British Curriculum school and have experience using the Bell Foundation and Identification programme.

The role of EAL Teacher plays an important role for many of these pupils in enabling them to fully access the curriculum and wider co-curricular life of the school through improving their level of English Language.

We will look to you to promote high expectations for our students, designing learning activities that support their day-to-day classroom learning in school, and are aligned to our school’s EAL curriculum and creating a learning culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved. You will foster an environment of respect within the classroom, facilitating learning through questioning and discussion.

• Tech-savvy, fluent in using APPs and technology to extend and enrich each pupil’s learning experience.

• Passionate about providing enriched learning opportunities for children in and out of the classroom.

Excellent communicators who can ignite a passion for learning in our students and are able to articulate the English language.

• Strong academic back-ground, work-ethic, well-organised having excellent interpersonal skills.

• Dynamic, enthusiastic, and well-qualified candidate holding as a minimum, a B.A with a specialization in English. In addition, the candidate must have an additional EAL related qualification, such as a TEFL, TESOL, ILETS 7 or CELTA.

• At least 2 years experience using the Bell Foundation Programme.
