Our School:

St Louis School in Milan is a private international school which caters for 1,700 children from the ages of 2 to 18. The Early Years (EYFS), the Primary School and the Middle School offer a curriculum based on the British National Curriculum. The Middle School ends with the Cambridge Checkpoint examinations in Year 9 leading into the IGCSE and IBDP examinations in the High School. The Role:

We are currently seeking cover for 5-8 weeks (starting Monday, 26th August and possibly up to October 25th) for our FS1/3 year old class at Colonna Campus of the School. An immediately available Early Years Teacher of the highest calibre is required to support in a co-teaching learning environment.

Accommodation costs will be covered as part of the temporary contract.


The Ideal Candidate:

The Early Years Teacher must be fully qualified to work with children from 3 years of age and be able to adapt quickly to a new and exciting learning environment. The ideal candidate will have strong empathy skills and be willing to use relational strategies in a stimulating learning environment with students from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

A strong commitment to purposeful learning and teaching, collaborative planning and open communication is essential. We pride ourselves on the commitment offered by our friendly, supportive and professional staff. Applicants must be willing to be active, flexible participants in a hard-working team of teachers. Proven experience within an international, bilingual or multilingual context would also be useful but is not essential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Years or degree plus Early Years PGCE
  • Established experience in teaching in the Early Years - No NQTs please
  • Be an English first language user with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate an ability in engaging with students and teaching staff alike, maintaining a high standard of work at all times
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills • Demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment and professionalism at all times
  • Have a positive and flexible approach to school life and a well-developed ability to work in teams
  • The ability to create a happy, challenging and effective learning environment • A valid visa that enables you to work in Italy would be an advantage
  • Hold “Qualified Teacher Status” or an equivalent qualification • Have a minimum of five years’ teaching experience
  • Knowledge of the EYFS is an asset (but not absolutely essential)


Initial interviews will take place by Zoom. Flights, baggage allowance and accommodation costs will be provided by the school for this short term contract. Candidates should upload their letter of presentation, Curriculum Vitae and a recent photograph when submitting their application
