ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
Position Overview
ABA seeks an outstanding pedagogical leader with experience and current knowledge of the IB Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). The successful candidate will have previous experience of senior leadership in an international school context.
The Elementary School Principal is a member of the School’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and has whole school responsibilities.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES
- Deep understanding of student learning at the relevant developmental stages
- Commitment to the philosophy of the IB and ensuring the fundamentals of student education are in place
- Deep understanding of literacy and mathematics learning for students through their Elementary School education
- Acts with integrity and is able to effectively communicate with different stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
- Student and learning centered leader who applies this belief to decision making
- Experience in developing and leading effective teams
- Experience in developing curriculum and improving the quality of learning and teaching
- Able to think strategically and effectively plan continuous school improvement
- Skill in the organization of an Elementary School including the use of data, admissions, budgets and resources
- Experience in recruiting highly effective teachers
- Ability to inspire others and make people feel valued
- Experience in working in a highly effective and successful school environment
- Passionate about the role and working with teachers and students
- Experience in growing leadership capacity through distributed leadership
- Committed to and has experience of creating a culture of trust and respect where all stakeholders feel valued
- Able to work effectively under pressure and retain a sense of humour

LOCATION
Oman is typically known as the jewel of the Middle East. The school is located in Muscat near to the international airport. Oman is known as being a safe and friendly country where our staff are able to enjoy the amazing outdoor experiences which are on offer.
PACKAGE
ABA Oman International School offers a comprehensive package including a competitive tax-free salary, annual home leave flights, tuition for up to two children, health insurance, end of service gratuity and accommodation.
The initial contract will be three years with contracts being renewable annually thereafter.
