An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, innovative, enthusiastic Technician to join the Engineering team based at Pride Park, Derby.
The successful person will provide technical support for learners and teaching staff. This position will allow the successful applicant to pass on their knowledge to future generation of engineers by providing guidance on the use of equipment and practical processes associated with the Mechanical Engineering.
If you have worked in industry for a number of years and you are looking for a change or if you’re looking to move into engineering and already hold some practical skills then this job could be for you.
Your primary responsibilities will be working a long side our workshop tutors supporting them and the students by being another pair of eyes in the workshop and ordering / preparing workshops for practical sessions.
The successful candidate will have industry experience and ideally a minimum of a level 2 qualification in Engineering / Mathematics and English. Either have or be willing to work towards TAQA Assessor Qualification. Experience of supporting teaching and learning in a workshop environment or workplace would be an advantage.
The successful applicant will be expected to work flexibly and under pressure to meet deadlines, and be customer focused with excellent communication and organisational skills.
