Estates Coordinator

We welcome applications for this support post to commence as soon as possible. We are recruiting for two positions, one permanent and one temporary to cover a period of maternity leave for one year. The role can be full time or part time (minimum of 4 days per week).

The Role

To assist the Estates department in pro-actively supporting the strategic and operational delivery across the college’s estate and Lancaster University School of Mathematics (LUSoM). This role will be instrumental in supporting the management of the Estate, including the coordination of college & LUSoM projects, property management, building maintenance, site utilities, service agreements and Health & Safety compliance.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Lead on the management of robust information and stakeholder communication on behalf of the Estates Department
  • Support the efficient management of capital projects, liaising with key internal and external stakeholders
  • With the aid of external advisers, provide support to ensure Health and Safety compliance across college and LUSoM.
  • Lead on the Implementation of Department for Education (DfE) GEMS guidance to support and manage the college site effectively
  • Lead on and/or support estates projects
  • Provide support to ensure the estate is efficiently run with regards to energy management, financial spend, overseeing usage and reporting on trends
  • Prepare documentation and reports ensuring information is robust, accurate and well presented
  • Support the development of property and estates strategies
  • Provide support for the Lancaster University School of Mathematics

The Successful Candidate

The Estates Department is seeking someone with experience of working in a busy environment, capable of managing competing demands and maintaining data. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and administrative skills, a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, and be an excellent communicator with a can-do attitude. 

You should display the values, attitudes, and behaviours consistent with the Catholic Ethos of the College and have a commitment to equality/diversity and the safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.

Terms and Conditions

Hours: 37 hours per week, full year. Starting and finishing times as agreed. Part time hours, with a minimum of four days per week, will also be considered.

Salary: The post will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges’ Support Staff Pay Spine at points 11 to 14 pro rata to £26,097 to £28,549 per annum.

Our core activity is to provide education for students aged 16-18, offering a range of A-Level, BTEC and T-Level courses, at both level 2 and 3. An Outstanding College 

Cardinal Newman is one of the highest performing sixth form colleges nationally for Value Added and the latest Ofsted Inspection in February 2023 graded all areas of the College as ‘outstanding’. The report confirmed that students have highly positive attitudes to learning. Attendance is very high and students are committed to their studies and are highly motivated to achieve.
