The role:
This role will work specifically with our English Faculty with supporting students with SEND, which may include severe learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or physical disabilities. The post holder will provide intervention teaching for a caseload of students on a timetable basis. The role may also be required to cover lessons for classroom teachers in exceptional circumstances.
The post holder will lead, assist and accompany extra-curricular activities and be familiar with all appropriate courses and assessment framework used within the English faculty.
The person:
The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with complex needs and successful experience of creating an inspiring learning environment.
It is essential that the success candidate has an understanding of how children learn, and the ability to adapt teaching to accommodate different students.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed for this role, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, students and families.

Ashfield School is the largest single site 11-18 secondary school in the country (NOR 2,700). Our extensive and inclusive seven-year curriculum is housed in state of the art facilities including a separate, purpose built Post 16 Centre, a tiered theatre, a swimming pool, drama and dance studios, catering kitchen, construction centre, hair and beauty studios and a 400 metre fully equipped athletics track.
Ashfield School has earned a succession of very strong ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding features’ Ofsted judgements and we continue to go from strength the strength in terms of our reputation and student numbers.
