Fixed Term Learning Support Assistant

North Town Primary School (part of the Richard Huish Trust) are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, flexible and adaptable Learner Support Assistant and Lunch Time Supervisor.

Hours: 30 hours and 50 minutes per week – Term Time Only (39 Weeks)

Grade / Salary:  Grade 15, scale point 3 currently £22,737 FTE (actual on 30.85 hours £15,819)

Location: Taunton

Contract type: Fixed Term until April 25

 The successful candidates will support the class teacher by:

·        Delivering learning support to pupils through a range of approaches.

·        Supporting a pupil / pupils at lunchtimes in a range of ways.

 The successful candidates will:

·        Have recent and relevant Leaner Support (Teaching Assistant) experience in at least one primary school or specialist provision school.

·        Have the knowledge and understanding to work with children with special educational needs.

·        Be able to relate effectively with learners and adults.

·        Be able to follow individual and small group learning plans systematically.

About North Town Primary School and Nursery

Thank you for your time and interest in North Town Primary School and Nursery. I have been lucky enough to be the head teacher at the school since April 2022 and feel very lucky and honoured to be leading the school.

North Town is a two-form entry town school which serves a wide community. We have over 430 children attending the school with another 50 children on roll at our nursery.

We have a committed and enthusiastic team of staff at the school who work together to ensure we can provide the best education possible and provide many opportunities for the children. The community are really supportive and onboard with everything we are aiming to achieve as a school. They know that the staff are approachable and work with us to ensure children progress.

The school leadership are ambitious with much experience to continue to improve the educational experience for all children. They work effectively as a team and work closely with all staff so that everyone at the school has a voice and feel listened to and that we are all working towards the same outcomes.

Staff are given opportunities to progress and develop in a caring and ambitious environment.

North Town Primary School and Nursery is part of The Richard Huish Trust. It is a Trust with a 6th form college, a secondary school and five primary schools. The schools work closely together in collaboration which has a positive impact on each setting.
