Founding Head of Senior School (Secondary - KS3)

Overview of the Role

We are seeking an exceptional educator and leader to join as the Founding Head of Senior School . This pivotal leadership role offers a unique opportunity to shape the foundations of our new Senior School from its inception. The successful candidate will join us as soon as possible to lead the pre-opening preparation phase, working closely with the General Principal to establish and implement the vision for academic excellence in our Senior School.

The role combines strategic academic leadership with operational oversight, focusing on curriculum development, staff recruitment and development, and establishing robust systems for teaching and learning. As a founding leader, you will play a crucial role in creating the school's culture, academic programs, and student support systems during our founding years.

Key Requirements

Education & Certification:

- Master's degree in educational leadership or related field or NPQH/NPQSL

- Teaching qualification

- IB MYP training and certification (preferred)

Experience:

- Minimum 5 years teaching experience

- Proven track record in curriculum development and implementation

- Experience with MYP authorization process (preferred)

- Previous leadership experience in a secondary setting

- Start-up school experience would be advantageous

Skills & Knowledge:

- Deep understanding of MYP framework and philosophy

- Strong experience in policy development and implementation

- Excellent organizational and documentation skills

- Outstanding communication and team-building abilities

- Cultural awareness and sensitivity

- Understanding of best practices in pastoral care

- Understanding of child protection and safeguarding
