FULL TIME CLASS TEACHER - Permanent Teacher

MPS/UPS (Outer London) & SEN 1

Contract start date: Monday 6th January 2025

Pupils on roll 162 FTE

Waverley School is a large, Local Authority maintained day school in Enfield, North London. Our pupils are ages 3-19 with severe complex needs. We currently have 162 FTE pupils on roll across three sites. The largest site is Waverley School and the other two sites are Little Waverley@Bell Lane and Little Waverley.

We wish to recruit a full time permanent class teacher. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed teacher to develop their special educational expertise as we offer a comprehensive induction programme and opportunities for further training, including provision for ECTs.

As a teacher at Waverley, you will be required to plan, prepare and deliver exciting, differentiated and creative lessons to spark curiosity and wonder within our wonderful students and motivate them to fully engage in and embrace learning. You must be dedicated to developing your own knowledge, skills and attitudes and be highly organised and reflective in order to continually adapt your teaching according to the needs of the students. You must be an effective communicator in order to liaise with a range of professionals and lead a class team. You will play an integral role in developing the self esteem, communication, confidence and independence of every pupil you teach and you will work with the rest of the school community to cultivate young adults who are active members of society.

The successful candidate will join our thriving and successful school which was designated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in July 2024.

We wish to appoint a teacher with:

  • A positive attitude with emotional resilience
  • A commitment to special education and improving the lives of children and young people with disabilities
  • Excellent organisation skills with experience of planning, assessing and monitoring progress
  • Relevant teaching experience
  • Ability to reflect on and adapt teaching
  • A reflective approach to their ongoing professional development
