The Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz is an international boarding school with a history stretching back over 120 years, located near St. Moritz in the heart of the scenic Engadin Valley (Switzerland). 220 boarders from around the world and 110 local day students study at our school for the Swiss Matura, the iGCSE, the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP), and the International Career-Related Programme (IBCP). We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and caring person (female/male) to join as a

Graduate Assistant, Mathematics

Workload: 100% - includes evening and weekend work, as required.

Start date: School year 2024-25 – From August 2024.

The position will suit candidates who are interested in teaching and enjoy the challenge of working with bright and inquisitive international students, aged 13 – 19 (grades 7 to 12).

Please note that an EU/EFTA or Swiss citizenship is required!

Responsibilities:

  • Co-teaching and tutoring Mathematics in the iGCSE and IB Diploma programmes.
  • Lead and inspire students in additional Mathematics programmes, including Mathematic Olympiad clubs as well as Mathematics support sessions.
  • Promote the learning of Mathematics across the school, including in the extra-curricular programme.
  • Support the boarding houses with Mathematics learning during supervised study.
  • Participate in the wider school life of pedagogical professional learning, boarding life and extra curricular activities.

Requirements:

  • Educated to a minimum degree level in Mathematics or similar degree.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills along with a strong sense of responsibility
  • Experience working with young people
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills an advantage.
  • High level of social competence and empathy
