The Island Private School of Limassol in Cyprus, which first opened its doors to 500 students in September 2022, is currently seeking passionate, experienced, and competent professionals to join our team. 

As we grow, we are in the process of planning our new school campus on a beautiful 50,000 m2 site to be completed approximately by end of 2025, that will include kindergartens, elementary and high schools, an international boarding school, and accommodation for teachers. This is a great opportunity to join a growing school on the cusp of a major turning point.

Now we are seeking an experienced and passionate Greek Language Teacher to join the team.

 General responsibilities: 

  •  Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that align with the MYP curriculum and encourage students to explore various aspects of the Greek language and history.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds.
  • Create and implement effective assessment strategies to evaluate students' language proficiency, literary analysis skills, and understanding of Greek cultural context.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units that integrate Greek language and literature with other subject areas within the MYP framework.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic and personal development.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences, departmental meetings, and IB-related professional development activities.
  • Contribute to the school's extracurricular activities, such as literary clubs, language immersion programs, or cultural events related to Greek language and literature.


Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor's degree in Education, Greek Language and Literature, or related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Teaching certification and/or relevant teaching experience, especially within the IB MYP or Diploma Programme.
  • Proficiency in Greek language and a deep understanding of Greek literature, history, and culture.
  • Familiarity with inquiry-based learning, differentiated instruction, and student-centered teaching methodologies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, international school environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a reflective approach to teaching practice.

Working days/hours: from Monday to Friday/08:00 - 16:00
