The school now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Geography Teacher acting as Head of Department to join our fantastic team. This is a part time position up to 0.6 FTE. The salary is up to £23,803 (FTE £39,672) plus Head of Department allowance.

About the role
Located in a semi-rural setting, a stone’s throw from the Sea, Meoncross School and Nursery provides Independent Education for boys and girls aged 2.5 to 16 years.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join our passionate and committed team. We are looking for an enthusiastic Geography Teacher to be a Departmental Lead. This person will have overall responsibility for the professional leadership and management of the department in order to ensure high standards of teaching and learning are delivered, resources are used efficiently and effectively, and the curriculum is managed and developed in accordance with school policy. Additionally, they will ensure the effective teaching of all pupils, helping them to develop both inside and outside the classroom.
Who we are looking for
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have a high level of classroom teaching skills with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or the equivalent gained through experience. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others. You should have excellent professional knowledge and understanding, and experience in tracking and assessment procedures to improve standards using pupil performance data.
