The Island Private School of Limassol is a polysystemic educational hub that offers 3 programmes (International Baccalaureate, Waldorf & Montessori) under one roof. We follow a holistic approach, offering a full-day learning environment (08:00-18:00) for international students of diverse cultural backgrounds.

Starting from Pre-Primary, the educational journey at our school supports students on their learning path, tailoring education to individual needs, aspirations and connecting it to real-life experiences and up-to-date practices. 

We are now seeking a competent, experienced and, above all, passionate Head of Learning Support to join the team from August 2025.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Development and Implementation of SEN Programmes:

  •  Design, develop, and implement specialised SEN programs tailored to the unique learning needs of students.
  • Collaborate with school leadership and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of SEN programs with overall educational objectives.
  • Stay abreast of best practices and research in the field of special education to continuously improve program effectiveness.


Individual Development Plans (IDPs):

  • Oversee the creation and implementation of Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for students with SEN, ensuring that plans are tailored to each student's strengths, needs, and learning goals.
  • Monitor progress and regularly review IDPs to make necessary adjustments based on student performance and development.


Student Support and Advocacy:

  • Serve as an advocate for students with SEN, ensuring that their rights and needs are respected and accommodated within the school environment.
  • Provide support and guidance to teachers, parents, and students in navigating challenges related to SEN and accessing appropriate resources and support services.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to provide additional support and services as needed.


Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Collect and analyse data related to student progress, program effectiveness, and outcomes for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to school leadership, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions. Prepare reports as required, highlighting trends, areas of concern, and recommendations for improvement.


Leadership and Team Management:

  • Provide effective leadership to a team of SEN teachers and School Counsellors, ensuring clear communication, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment conducive to the success of both students and staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance team performance.


Collaborative Partnerships & PD: 

  • Collaborate with the Academic Leaders, teachers, administrators, and support staff to create a holistic wellbeing and support system for students. Foster positive relationships with parents, encouraging open communication and involvement in their child's pastoral care.
  • Organise and deliver professional development sessions for staff members on topics related to SEN and counselling. Equip teachers with strategies and tools to identify and support students in need, including raising awareness of available resources and best practices.
  • Organise and participate in school awareness campaigns, or peer mentoring initiatives. Foster a sense of belonging, respect and inclusivity within the school community.


Requirements:

  • A Degree in SEN or School Counselling is a must.
  • Middle Leadership experience.
  • Positive attitude to challenging situations and tasks.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive school culture.


Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 16:00

Recruitment process:

  1. Panel interview including Head of school, Deputy Head and Employee Success Manager (30 minutes).
  2. Final interview with the Founder and CEO (20 minutes).
