Head of MFL Department(able to teach Spanish at KS3 & 4)- Permanent

Prosper Multi Academy Trust of which Bolton Muslim Girls’ School is a part of is looking for a Head of MFL starting from January 2025 to join our Modern Foreign Languages department and our committed team of specialist teachers. The successful candidate is expected to play a significant role in leading teaching and learning with the ability to teach Spanish at KS3 & 4. The ability to teach other languages as well would be an advantage. You will be a motivated colleague who has a proven track record of raising attainment. You will be able to take a leadership role in developing, implementing, and evaluating policies and practice in the workplace which contribute to school improvement. Your role will be instrumental in delivering BMGS vision of highly engaging, interactive, and challenging learning experiences for our students in MFL.

You will lead this forward-thinking team across Key Stages 3 and 4 and the whole ability range, working together to create an extremely positive learning culture based on high expectations, the building of Foreign Language skills and a huge passion for your subject. As a leader you will also be responsible for the line management and development of a team of highly skilled practitioners keen to develop their teaching.

The school’s GCSE results have been top of the borough for the last five consecutive years. The school has a track record of sustainable school improvements, and are looking to strengthen our team in the future.

Bolton Muslim Girls’ School is always over-subscribed with first choice applications. To meet with the growing demands for places and due to school’s popularity as a high achieving school, the school had been successful in securing a capital funding for expansion in 2019. The additional capacity resulted in 30 additional places in Yr.7 with effect from 2020. The school will have 750 pupils on roll by September 2024. It is an exciting time at Bolton Muslim Girls’ School. The increased pupil population and recent Ofsted outcome has generated more career opportunities for staff through the review of the current curriculum and staffing structure. We are will continue to expand them further through the development of the third floor and Ground Floor of the Mill Building.
