Contract: Permanent - 35 hours per week

Do you want to shape the future of Education Operations and lead the transformation of our operational systems and solutions?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as the Head of Operational Systems & Solutions.

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

In the role of Head of Operational Systems & Solutions, you'll be an integral member of the Operations Senior Leadership Team, significantly contributing to the strategy formulation for Education Operations that underpins both UK Education and International Product Groups.

You will be responsible for leading a function that brings together UK and International teams to provide effective operational product ownership, supplier management, contract delivery and product and service introduction capabilities. These functions are crucial for the delivery of high-quality and high-stakes assessments for our OCR and Cambridge International Awarding Bodies, as well as additional educational products and services.

With the opportunity to work with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, - customers, regulators, suppliers, product managers, and technical teams - you will ensure that our operational systems and solutions are agile, responsive, and aligned to customer and regulatory needs. Moreover, you will champion innovation and ongoing enhancement, bolstering our resilience, efficiency, and scalability.

As the Head of Operational Systems & Solutions, you will be a leader who inspires and empowers your teams to deliver excellence and achieve their potential. You will foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and development, and ensure that we have the right people, with the right skills, to propel the strategic objectives of our UK and International Product Groups.

By joining us, you will be part of a culture of innovation and continuous improvement that drives organisational change and excellence. You will have the opportunity to pursue your potential and grow your career in a diverse and inclusive environment, where you will be supported, challenged and empowered. You will also contribute to our mission of helping learners around the world to demonstrate and fulfil their potential.

If you are passionate about transforming exam processing and delivering the best experience for our customers and learners, then we want to hear from you.

About you

To excel in this role, you will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge in operational processes and large-scale systems change. Your expertise should include comprehensive knowledge in systems testing, preparedness within an educational operational context, and skilful application of change frameworks to implement complex system alterations on an organisational scale.

A business management background, preferably in service delivery or client-centric operations, and familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks are also central to this role. You will have experience managing and directing operational systems teams at a high level.

Visionary leadership in digital operational transformation and an ability to inspire others with your foresight are key, alongside budget management and process optimisation. With pronounced intercultural competence, the capacity to forge influential connections with various colleagues and stakeholders is expected. An open-minded, inquisitive approach with a zeal for absorbing and trialling cutting-edge operational concepts is desired. A proactive collaborator and organised, intuitive problem solver, you'll be driven by aspirations to develop both the business and your own career.
