Job overview

Wellington Prep School is looking to recruit an ambitious and creative new Head of Prep Music & Pre-Prep Performing Arts for September 2023. Alongside the Music and Drama curriculum, the Prep School delivers a busy calendar of termly concerts, showcases and productions.

Suitable applicants should ideally have a strong musical background as they will lead all academic Music from Reception to Year 6 alongside playing the piano for assemblies and other school events or productions, and supporting, or leading Choirs, Ensembles, or Sinfonias. Similarly they should have a keen interest in the wider area of Performing Arts, as they will work closely with the Director Drama to lead Pre-Prep (KS1) Performing Arts provision which combines Music and Drama. They will also work alongside the Drama department supporting Years 3-6 Productions.

Applicants must be able to use their initiative, whilst being committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare. Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS and child protection checks. We are an equal opportunities employer.
